THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) HOT TO TROT (L Mxothwa) was unruly and stubborn loading.
b) ROSE OF MINE (X Ndlovu) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
c) SUGAR SNAP (S Khathi), BABYITSCOLDOUTSIDE (W Agrella) and IQEMBULABESIFAZANE (*K A Brewer) were slow into stride.
d) MEZZYOONA (K Minnie) was slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) BABYITSCOLDOUTSIDE (W Agrella), which over-raced in the early and middle stages, had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the inside of HELENCANUCOPE (*Y Ramzan), which rolled in at the 800m and was immediately straightened.
b) MISS GLAMOUR (C Habib) commenced to give ground to the field from the 400m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
c) Jockey X Ndlovu, the rider of ROSE OF MINE, accidentally dropped his crop at approximately the 350m.
d) Jockey W Agrella (BABYITSCOLDOUTSIDE) briefly lost the footing to his left-side stirrup at the 200m.
e) Jockey S Khathi was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking SUGAR SNAP more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey S Khathi signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R 750.00 was imposed.
When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (13).
f) HOT TO TROT (L Mxothwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
