THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPRING FEVER (S Moodley) fly-jumped leaving the stalls and was slow into stride. b) VENTRILOQUIST (C Zackey) lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1400m, ROY'S BREYANI (*M Katjedi) was tightened and checked on the inside of LET THE SUN SHINE (*K Strydom) which had begun to over-race, proving difficult to assist and shifted in marginally. b) SPRING FEVER (S Moodley) was hanging out around the turn proving difficult to assist and failed to negotiate the turn. Assistant Trainer C Eudey acting on behalf of Trainer M Miller appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to improve this filly's racing manners going forward or it may be suspended. c) In the concluding stages, SPIRIT OF NUNA (A Marcus) took an awkward stride. Thereafter. Jockey A Marcus eased this filly out the race. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) HYDRANGEA (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Owner A Delpech acting on behalf of Trainer S G Tarry advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) AMBLE INN raced with a tongue tie (advised 17.04.22/6/04). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) SPIRIT OF NUNA : Lame in front. Vet certificate required prior to racing. Blood specimens were taken for analysis. Trainer V H Marshall advised (MB). THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
