THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TOUCH OF FATE (Wes Marwing) and NYMERIA (M Ntuli) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being slow away, TOUCH OF FATE (Wes Marwing) failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field throughout. Thereafter Jockey Marwing reported that this gelding did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) GRINDELWALD (*P Mxoli) pulled hard in the early stages, thereafter Apprentice Mxoli reported that GRINDELWALD shortened its stride in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey M Yeni reported something amiss with BLACK BURNER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) SUCCESSFUL SECRET (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
