The start of this race was delayed due to the saddles of SHADOWLAND and SNOW TREASURE being switched, resulting in the riders of these respective horses having to be sent back to re-weigh and the horses to be re-saddle. The delay was compounded by ARABIAN QUEST being checked by the Veterinary Surgeon before the commencement of the process. FLORENA and ARABIAN QUEST were slow into stride. PRINCESS KALISI was stubborn loading. SHADOWLAND was nervous in the stalls. COIN MISTRESS was slow away and lost 2 lengths. DIAMOND HEIST was overracing in the early and middle stages. ARABIAN QUEST refused to negotiate the band and raced wide throughout the turn and into the straight. Thereafter compounded at the 300m. Jockey Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with ARABIAN QUEST in the running. Jockey Gould reported that AMPLE GLORY took no interest in the running. Shortly before the finishing line, PRINCESS KALISI and WHISKY TANGO came together and brushed slightly. A race review was called by the Rider of the 2nd placed horse with regards to this incident. After reviewing the patrol films from various angles, Jockey Fourie decided to take no further action. PRINCESS KALISI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SHADOWLAND raced equipped with a tongue tie. Vet: AMPLE GLORY and ARABIAN QUEST - nothing obvious detected. QUERENCIA and PRINCESS KALISI - abnormal respiratory noise. COIN MISTRESS - spread right fore shoe.
