THE STARTER REPORTED
A) I WANNA BAMBA was stubborn loading, nervous in the stalls, was slow away and lost 1 length. The starting stall certificate for this colt is withdrawn.
B) PSYCHEDELIC ERIC, KING OF LUV and CAVE ROCK were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED
A) KING OF LUV (G Cheyne) raced wide on the latter part of the bend.
B) A FOREIGN AFFAIR (C Habib) was hanging in from the 400m.
C) Apprentice K A Brewer reported that MR LINEBREAKER did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
D) Jockey M V'Rensburg reported that CAVE ROCK made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
E) In view of the Starter's report with regard to I WANNA BAMBA (*K Strydom), this colt's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading into the stalls. Suspension dates: 30 April 2022 to 06 May 2022 both days included. I WANNA BAMBA may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer K Mitchley on behalf of Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised.
F) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning MR LINEBREAKER (*K A Brewer), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority for an indefinite period. In terms of Rule 49.7, a veterinary certificate for MR LINEBREAKER must be submitted to the Veterinary Department of the National Horseracing Authority, before it can be entered for a race. Assistant Trainer D G Smith acting on behalf of Trainer G D Smith was advised.
G) The winner CHAMPAGNESOCIALIST was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer D A McKenzie acting on behalf of Trainer S B Kotzen advised (LM).
H) The unplaced horse MR LINEBREAKER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Assistant Trainer D G Smith acting on behalf of Trainer G D Smith advised (LM).
