THE STARTER REPORTED A) FOREIGN SOURCE was nervous in stalls. B) WILLIAMS LAND jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls and lost significant ground. The starting stall certificate for this gelding is withdrawn. C) ALPHA PAPPA was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) The Stewards reviewed the start of this race with regard to WILLIAMS LAND (M V'Rensburg) in stalls gate 3 and established that this gelding had ducked in sharply shortly after the start, resulting in the rider becoming unbalanced and losing both stirrup irons. The Stewards were satisfied that the gelding had not been impeded in any way and was declared to be a runner. B) Jockeys W Agrella (TARSUS) and C Habib (MAITLAND MAGIC) reported that their respective mounts did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) Jockey S Khathi reported that FOREIGN SOURCE choked up in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. D) In view of the performance of LINE OF POWER (G Cheyne) (distance 5.00 - betting 9/2) the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. E) In view of the Starter's report with regard to WILLIAMS LAND (M V'Rensburg), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable to jump on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 30 April 2022 to 06 May 2022 both days included. WILLIAMS LAND may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
