BISHOP'S BOUNTY was slow into stride. DUTCH PHILIP was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. CALLA LILY was nervous in the stalls. Jockey Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with EXELERO in the running and did not persevere with his ride from approximately the 250m. Jockey Minnie reported that CALLA LILY was changing stride in the running. The front gate of LE GRAND ROUGE drawn 5 opened slightly earlier than the rest of the gates. A race review was called by the member of the Stipendiary Board with regards to this incident, after reviewing the patrol films of the start from various angles. The Board were off the opinion that LE GRAND ROUGE had gained no advantage from this incident and therefore took no further action. SIR FRENCHIE (AUS) and BISHOP'S BOUNTY were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. GOLD DRAGON raced in the colours of Messrs S Jeenally & S Gurusami: Red, gold epaulettes, red sleeves, gold armbands, black cap, gold star. Vet: EXELERO - not striding out both fore. KIMBERLEY STAR and LE GRAND ROUGE - abnormal respiratory noise. ALDO - speedy cut right fore. CALLA LILY - not striding out left fore.
