THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 1000m, BIM BAM BUDDY (*K Brewer) shifted out when awkwardly placed on the inside of HAAL UIT EN WYS (R Khathi) which rolled in. As a consequence of this incident, ULTIMATE JEWEL (*K Strydom) shifted out sharply to avoid running onto the heels of BIM BAM BUDDY (*K Brewer). b) WULFSTON (M Yeni) was baulked between the 600m and the 500m. Thereafter, WULFSTON (M Yeni) was switched in for a clear run. c) Between the 400m and the 350m, ULTIMATE JEWEL (*K Strydom) was brushed in on two occasions by LAKE COMO (*R Venniker) which rolled in at the 500m. d) Apprentice R Venniker (LAKE COMO) has now ridden her 60th winner and will no longer claim an apprentice allowance from the conclusion of today's race meeting. e) LAKE COMO (*R Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Campbell advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) CAPTAIN NITS raced with a tongue tie and with a compression mask (advised 01.05.22/7h59). b) GRANDDADDY PURPLE was ridden by Jockey K de Melo.
