THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In a race run at a sedate pace in the early stages, ISLA MORADA (M Yeni) clipped the heels of SIEGE OF ORLEANS (*R Venniker) at the 1500m. b) Jockey K de Melo reported that HEARTSEASE choked up in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey S Khumalo signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 55.4, in that as the rider of WEDDING BLISS, he failed to weigh out at the carded weight. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. d) CHELSEA FLOWER (*K Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Hewitson advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) HEARTSEASE raced with a tongue tie (advised 01.05.22/8h04). b) CHELSEA FLOWER raced without blinkers and with a compression mask (advised 02.05.22/7h12). c) ISLA MORADA raced with a compression mask. d) EYE CATCHING was ridden by Jockey A Arries. e) WEDDING BLISS Jockey S Khumalo weighed out at 54.4kg, 1kg over the carded weight of 53kg.
