THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JP TWO THOUSAND (*S Sosibo) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) WEST POINT (R Munger) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) RIVER JORDAN (C Habib) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, ELUSIVE SWANN (C Zackey) and SILLY FELLA (*P Mxoli) were squeezed out when awkwardly placed between JP TWO THOUSAND (*S Sosibo), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, and WEST POINT (R Munger), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) SILLY FELLA (*P Mxoli) hung in from the 300m. c) Apprentice P Mxoli was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride the horse SILLY FELLA out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. Apprentice P Mxoli signed an Admission of Guilt and the Board imposed a penalty of a fine of R1,000.00. When assessing the penalty, the Board was satisfied that Apprentice P Mxoli had not prejudiced SILLY FELLA'S chance of obtaining second place. d) JP TWO THOUSAND (*S Sosibo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) ELUSIVE SWANN was ridden by Jockey C Zackey (declared 8 May 2022 at 07H25). b) CHARGE DOWN was ridden by Jockey G Lerena (declared 8 May 2022 at 09H55).
