THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) A KINGS RETURN (+S Liyaba) was stubborn loading.
b) ACT OF THUNDER (+Z Matwa) was nervous and jumped awkwardly with his head up.
c) MEEEN STREAK (+M July) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing one length.
d) BACK TO FORMENTERA (+M Khaka) jumped slow, losing three lengths
e) JACK'S JAMBOREE (+A Gwadiso) and ANTONIA AUGUSTA (+M Sambu) jumped slow, losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) The television department representative was interviewed by the Stewards concerning the quality of the footage concerning the quality of the available patrol film footage and was advised that there was no footage of the start pertaining to the horses in the inside draws, which was unacceptable.
b) Work Rider G Futshane (V V POWER) was advised that his riding in the closing stages had come under notice and even though he had been passed by the eventual winner, he is still obliged to ride his mounts out to the finish.
c) ACT OF THUNDER (+Z Matwa) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. d) A KINGS RETURN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
