THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the 700m ANDY COOGLE (N Nastili) was steadied outwards when close to the heels of CELTIC CHIEF (S Moodley) which rolled in marginally. b) In the concluding stages NDAKA (K Matsunyane) was carried in by WARRIOR OF ROYALTY (*J Botes) which rolled in marginally. Thereafter NDAKA (K Matsunyane) was inconvenienced when tightened between WARRIOR OF ROYALTY (*J Botes) and MASTERBLING (S Hlengwa) which rolled out marginally. c) In view of the performances of ANDY COOGLE (N Nastili) (9.40 lengths and 14/1 in the betting) and CELTIC CHIEF (S Moodley) (4.60 lengths and 5/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) The Board has adjourned to review an incident which resulted in interference being suffered by ANDY COOGLE (N Nastili) and CELTIC CHIEF (S Moodley) at the 800m. e) CHARA SANDS (*M Mbuto), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
