Following heavy rainfall on Friday 25th October 2019, a track inspection was conducted on Saturday morning at 07h30 when horses galloped on bend and the straight course. The track was deemed fit to race. Jockey Domeyer did not ride at today's race meeting as he is under contract to Hong Kong. NEVIL MU jumped slow, losing 1 length. At the 800m, SENOR DON was awkwardly placed close to the heels of OH SO HOT and thereafter was hanging out and proved difficult to assist. Trainer Botha reported that this gelding returned having lost the tongue tie. At the 250m, OH SO HOT rolled in away from the crop and had to be straightened to avoid the heels of WINTER ASSEMBLY. Work Rider Nhose was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline M on the use of the crop, in that he used his crop more than 12 times during the race whilst riding the horse OH SO HOT. Work Rider Nhose signed an admission of guilt and was suspended for 1 work rider's race. Shortly before the finish, HOPE AND PRAY raced onto the heels of CYBER BLOSSOM and had to be steadied. WINTER ASSEMBLY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
