THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLONDE ACT (C Zackey) and CHASING MAVERICKS (N Klink) were slow into stride. b) DAWN MISSION (K de Melo) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GIMME A DREAM (W Kennedy) commenced to give ground the field from the 300m and thereafter Jockey Kennedy reported that this gelding took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine GIMME A DREAM. Assistant Trainer A Peter was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. b) Jockey C Habib reported that CHARIOT MASTER made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey N Klink reported that he felt something amiss with CHASING MAVERICKS in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) BLONDE ACT (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) CHASING MAVERICKS unilateral right nostril nose bleed. Confirmed by endoscopy post-race. b) GIMME A DREAM examined post race, nothing obvious detected. c) HOUSE MASTER choked up and blowing. d) CHARIOT MASTER examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
