THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DOG DETACHMENT (K Steyn) was stubborn loading, causing a delay. b) RUN RUDOLPH RUN (G Cheyne) jumped awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) HOME JAMES (A Marcus) pulled hard in the early stages, raced to the front of the field and tired quickly from the 250m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) ELECTRIC WARRIOR (R Fourie) was unable to secure clear running between the 250m and the 150m. c) In the concluding stages NAUSHON (S Khumalo) rolled out and became awkwardly placed on the inside of TIN CUP (J Smitsdorff). As a consequence, Jockey S Khumalo had to straighten the colt and was unable to ride NAUSHON to the finish. d) In view of the report from the starter regarding DOG DETACHMENT (K Steyn), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 19/05/2022 to 25/05/2022 inclusive). DOG DETACHMENT may not be presented for re-passing during this period. e) TIN CUP, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised.
