THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THOUSAND SHIPS (L Mxothwa) jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey L Mxothwa reported that THOUSAND SHIPS, which stumbled at the 250m, felt very uncomfortable in its action and he did not persevere with his riding from the 250m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Jockey K de Melo reported DOUBLE CHECK made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding THOUSAND SHIPS (L Mxothwa), Trainer B Crawford will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled before his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. d) THEFUTUREISBRIGHT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
