THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAPTAIN OF GRIT (S Khumalo) was stubborn loading. b) SEA WAYS (*K A Brewer) was slow losing one length. c) ABOUT TO STORM (K de Melo) was slow losing four lengths. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to ABOUT TO STORM, this gelding has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 20 May 2022 to 27 May 2022. ABOUT TO STORM may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (PHvdW). b) After being slow away and losing significant ground to the field, ABOUT TO STORM (K de Melo) being unable to make up the deficit, raced detached from the field throughout. c) Leaving the 400m, ABSOLUTE VALUE (J P van der Merwe) was steadied when awkwardly placed between ALINGALONGA (G Lerena) and CAPTAIN OF GRIT (S Khumalo) which commenced to hang in badly. Trainer C Dawson was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to improve this gelding's racing manners in future. d) Apprentice K A Brewer reported that SEA WAYS took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) TATTENHAM HILL (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee J Crawford advised (GF). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SEA WAYS was ridden by Apprentice K A Brewer who claims a 1,5kg allowance (declared 19 May 2022 at 07H23). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) CATCHTHEGREENLIGHT and ABSOLUTE VALUE raced fitted with compression masks (declared 12 May 2022 at 13H08).
