THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VITOSHA (+P Mongqawa) and SUPER SECRET (+T Matsoele) were stubborn loading. b) BELLE OMBRE (+M Duba), GAETANA (+T Mango) and VITOSHA (+P Mongqawa) were slow into stride. c) NELLIE BLY (+W van Staden) stumbled leaving the stalls and thereafter shifted inwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, STARLIT STRIP (+T Ncume) was brushed inwards by LENI GIRL (+G Dadamasi), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) Shortly after the start, BELLE OMBRE (+M Duba) and QUEEN BRITANNA (+S Mkhumbuzi) were carried inwards by NELLIE BLY (+W van Staden), which after taking an awkward stride, shifted in sharply leaving the stalls. c) VITOSHA (+P Mongqawa), after being slow away, failed to muster speed on debut and commenced to give ground to the field from the 800m. d) VITOSHA is suspended in terms of Rule 92.2.4 until she proves tractable cantering to the start, loading and jumping on terms with a companion on a race day. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, advised (GF). e) Work Rider W van Staden was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 in that he used his crop in a manner which was in contravention of the conditions of the Race, by striking NELLIE BLY on one occasion with his crop, when his crop hand was off the reins. Work Rider W van Staden signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race. Suspension date: 7 June 2022 f) SUPER SECRET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (RS). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) GAETANA was ridden by Work Rider V Sithetho (declared 25 May 2022 at 15H02). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) GAETANA raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 18 May 2022 at 08H41). b) NELLIE BLY raced equipped with alumites (declared 21 May 2022 at 09H44). c) LENI GIRL raced equipped with alumites (declared 25 May 2022 at 12H48).
