THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BELLEVARDE (J Mariba), SECONDA ERRORE (*J Solomons) and DUTCHESSBURNEDETTE (*S Sosibo) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) PRINCESS KESH (J Penny) and LAST SONG (C Habib) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LAST SONG (C Habib) was returned to the saddling enclosure when found to be incorrectly equipped. This led to the late arrival of LAST SONG (C Habib) at the start. Trainer S G Tarry was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he failed to ensure that the horse LAST SONG was presented in the parade ring with the equipment it was declared to run in. Trainer S G Tarry signed an Admission of Guilt and a penalty of a fine of R250 was imposed. b) At approximately the 150m, HIGH BORN LADY (S Khumalo), which hung in from the 400m, shifted in away from the crop and was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of SYBARIS (IRE) (K Matsunyane). c) Jockey J Mariba reported that he felt something amiss with BELLEVARDE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with SUN BIRD in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey K de Melo reported that DEVILISH DANCER took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) SYBARIS (IRE) (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, advised (LN). g) PRINCESS KESH (J Penny), unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A B Fortune advised (HK). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) PRINCESS KESH was ridden by Jockey J Penny (declared 26 May 2022 at 09H19). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) MS FLOWER POWER raced with a cornell collar (declared 02 February 2022) and fitted with a compression mask (declared 19 May 2022 at 13H15). b) LADY OF THE FLAME raced equipped with alumites (declared 25 May 2022 at 08H08). c) BELLEVARDE raced with a tongue tie on (declared 25 May 2022 at 09H55).
