THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GENERAL PASCHAL (Wes Marwing) was slow losing two lengths. b) ROCK FALL (*K A Brewer) was slow losing three lengths. Trainer R R Magner was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Habib did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Thereafter, Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with POMODORO HILLS in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Jockey D De Gouveia reported that NICHATHAN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey G Lerena reported that THAT'S A FACT made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) BRENDEN JAMES (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A B Fortune advised (RS). When afforded the opportunity to place on record any factors which may have accounted for this gelding's poor run on the 21 April 2022, Trainer A B Fortune explained to the Board that in her opinion, this run had followed too closely to the gelding's run on the 5th of April 2022, after a substantial break. JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
