THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TRIED AND TRUE (G Lerena) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) MISS DAISY (S Khumalo), RARATONGA ROSE (K Matsunyane) and SASSY (C Habib) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SIMPLE SIMPLE (J P van der Merwe) over-raced in the early stages. b) TRIED AND TRUE (G Lerena) shifted out away from the crop from the 300m. c) MISS DAISY (S Khumalo) hung out badly from the 200m. When taking into consideration this filly's history with regard to hanging and covering unnecessary ground in its races, Trainer B B Ruiters was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to ensure that this filly improves her racing manners in future (AH). d) Jockey C Zackey reported that SPLENDID SEASON made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) MISS DAISY (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B B Ruiters advised (AH).
