THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NAUSHON (S Khumalo) jumped inwards and made contact with GALACTIC PATH (C Orffer). b) GLOBAL VISTA (S Cele) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) NAUSHON (S Khumalo) raced wide without cover and, as a consequence, proved difficult to settle. b) Leaving the 100m AEROFORCE (G Cheyne) had to be steadied away from the heels of a tiring NAUSHON (S Khumalo), which rolled in and was immediately straightened. c) Leaving the 50m GLOBAL FORESTS (C Bantam), which was held up for a clear run between the 300m and the 100m, improved into a narrow run between BOWLED OVER (C Zackey) and DOUGLAS (K de Melo), shifted in away from BOWLED OVER (C Zackey) and made contact with DOUGLAS (K de Melo) which in turn made contact with JEM ROCK (R Fourie). As a result, DOUGLAS (K de Melo) was cramped for galloping room and had to be steadied at the finish. d) In view of the performance of NAUSHON (S Khumalo) (Betting 33/10 ; Distance 8.50) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) Jockey G Cheyne reported that he felt something amiss with AEROFORCE. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) Jockeys O Noach, S Khumalo, C Zackey, K de Melo, R Fourie and K Steyn were warned that should they fail to proceed to the parade ring immediately after being instructed to do so by the Clerk of Scales in future, disciplinary action will be taken. g) LIGHT SPEED, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised.
