THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SLINKY MAPIMPI (D Schwarz) was slow losing one length. b) THERMOPYLAE (*G Pieterse) stumbled leaving stalls and thereafter slow losing 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, ETEEAY (M Yeni) was unbalanced and had its hindquarters turned inwards when bumped by SLINKY MAPIMPI (D Schwarz) which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) SLINKY MAPIMPI (D Schwarz) raced green. c) RAFFLES (g Lerena) which raced green, shifted both ways away from the crop in the concluding stages. d) UNCLE TICKY BIRD (C Zackey) took an awkward stride at the 200m, thereafter Jockey Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with this colt. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine UNCLE TICKY BIRD. e) RAFFLES (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R R Magner advised (DR). f) Trainer P P Vermeulen was charged with a contravention of 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate the horse SLINKY MAPIMPI against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer Vermeulen signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) UNCLE TICKY BIRD was ridden by Jockey C Zackey.(declared 7 June 2022 at 07H34).
