THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) IMPOSING ANGEL (C Zackey) and STORMY LASS (*J R Syster) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
b) ALLEZ LES BLEU (AUS) (*K A Brewer) was slow into stride.
c) VERINOVA (M Yeni) reared in the stalls. This filly was removed from the stalls, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded.
d) NYMERIA (*P Mxoli) was stubborn loading. The Starting Stall Certificate for this mare has been withdrawn.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) VERINOVA (M Yeni) jumped into and made contact with the left front gate leaving the stalls.
b) Shortly after the start, NYMERIA (*P Mxoli) was steadied to avoid the heels of IMPOSING ANGEL (C Zackey) after being brushed out by YOUNG JACKIE (D Schwarz) which rolled outwards.
c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to NYMERIA, this mare has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 8 June 2022 to 14 June 2022. NYMERIA may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer B B Ruiters advised (GT).
d) Leaving the 500m, ALLEZ LES BLEU (AUS) was switched in to continue its run and thereafter hung in in the concluding stages.
e) Jockey C Habib (SOCIAL IMAGE) and Apprentice G Pieterse (AURORA LIGHT) reported that their respective mounts made abnormal respiratory noises in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses.
f) LOVE BITE (N Klink), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee T Mavuka advised (LN).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) IMPOSING ANGEL was ridden by Jockey C Zackey (declared 7 June 2022 at 07H36).
b) BETHANY was ridden by Jockey K Matsunayne.
c) STORMY LASS was ridden by Apprentice J R Syster.
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a) MERCER GIRL Apprentice S Sosibo weighed out at 48,7kg, only claiming 3,5kg of his 4kg allowance.
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a) SOCIAL IMAGE abnormal respiratory noise and coughing.
b) AURORA LIGHT examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
c) JAM FANCY speedy cut left hind.
THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
