The start of this Race was delayed due to the false start declared by the Starter. ROYAL AGREE was slow away and lost 1 length. JUST CALL ME ANGEL's gate opened prematurely. As the start was effected, starting stall gate 1 opened significantly earlier than the rest of the gates resulting in the starter calling a false start. All the riders restrained their mounts and returned to the start and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. The gates were checked by the starting staff and subsequently a decision to effect the start manually was taken for the re-start of this race. However, upon loading the field and releasing the gates it was again established that draw 1 opened earlier than the rest of the bank and draw 2 failing to open with the rest of the gates. A race review was called by a member of a Stipendiary Board with regards to draw 2 which failed to open timeously and draw 1 which had opened significantly earlier. Upon viewing the start from all angles, it was established that JUST CALL ME ANGEL drawn 1 had gained a significant advantage and therefore the Board declared JUST CALL ME ANGEL to be a non-runner and amended the Judges result to read 5, 2, 8, 1, 10, with regards to draw 2, the results was allowed to stand as this filly finished 2nd. FOOLS GARDEN pulled hard in the early stages. Jockey Minnie reported that ALPHABET STREET was not striding out freely in the running. SIERRA LINE was hanging in from the 400m. AMEX was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ALPHABET STREET - not striding out left fore. AMEX - blood in mouth.
