THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GODDEX APHAEA (O Noach) was restless in the stalls. b) GALLIC CAUSEWAY (C Zackey) and TEARDROP (G Cheyne) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start GALLIC CAUSEWAY (C Zackey) clipped the heels of HEY SIRI (G Behr) and stumbled when squeezed out between HEY SIRI (G Behr), which jumped inward and DREAMT I COULD FLY (K de Melo), which was carried outwards by BENEATH THE MOON (K Steyn), which jumped outwards. Thereafter, GALLIC CAUSEWAY (C Zackey) raced detached from the field and finished tailed off. Jockey C Zackey reported that GALLIC CAUSEWAY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Jockey K de Melo reported that DREAMT I COULD FLY did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) TIPSY TARRAGON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised.
