THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LESHAWES (R Munger), BLONDE ACT (J P van der Merwe), WONDERING STAR (C Habib), RIVER JORDAN (*J Solomons) and PERFECTLY PUTT (D De Gouveia) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, FOLLOW MY PATH (D R Lerena) was brushed in by MCEBISI (M van Rensburg) which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) PERFECTLY PUTT (D De Gouveia) commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m. c) Apprentice S Sosibo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking VANDERBILT more than twelve times in the entire race. Apprentice Sosibo signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1500 was imposed. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times Apprentice Sosibo used his crop (16) his recent record (1) as well as the position in which he finished the race (1st). d) VANDERBILT (*S Sosibo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Peter advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) VANDERBILT was ridden by Apprentice S Sosibo who claimed his 4kg allowance (declared 9 June 2022 at 08H52).
