THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) FORBIDDEN BEAST (S Khathi) was stubborn loading.
b) FORTUNE OF GOLD (L Mxothwa) was stubborn loading, nervous in the stalls and kicked the back gate.
c) NINTYFIVE SKYLINE (F Herholdt) was nervous and reared in the stalls.
d) DOUGLAS DEVASTATOR (G Cheyne) was restless in the stalls, got its right hind leg stuck on the running board, was taken out, examined by the veterinary surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded, causing a delay.
e) CLIFFS OF DOVER (T Gould) jumped slow, losing three lengths.
f) ZATARA MAGIC (M Yeni) stumbled leaving the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Approaching the 1100m ZATARA MAGIC (M Yeni), which over raced in the early stages, shifted out away from the heels of FORTUNE OF GOLD (L Mxothwa) and carried AMERICAN DAZZLER (M van Rensburg) outwards. As a consequence, AMERICAN DAZZLER (M van Rensburg) raced wide on the bend.
b) At the 400m, LAST STORM (C Orffer) was brushed by KUZNETSOV (R Fourie), which rolled in marginally.
c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding CLIFFS OF DOVER (T Gould), Trainer J Nel will be advised to have this colt re-schooled before his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding DOUGLAS DEVASTATOR (G Cheyne), Trainer AC Greeff will be advised to have this colt re-schooled before his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
e) KUZNETSOV, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DA McKenzie was advised. (LM)
