THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) RUN FOR COVER (R Munger) refused to load. Withdrawn by the Starter. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn.
b) NUCLEAR FORCE (K de Melo) was slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to RUN FOR COVER, this gelding has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 13 June 2022 to 19 June 2022. RUN FOR COVER may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer A B Fortune advised (GT).
b) In view of the performance of PENDRAGON (D Schwarz), (betting 33/1, distance 11,75 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c) PINCH HIT (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (RS).
d) SPIELBERG (W Kennedy), was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter advised (AH).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) NUCLEAR FORCE was ridden by Jockey K de Melo (declared 12 June 2022 at 08H34).
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a) TARTARUS raced with club colours (blue and black). Trainer P F Matchett was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he did not have available the registered colours of the owner/s of the horse TARTARUS. Trainer Matchett signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R500.
