THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OLVERSTON (M Yeni) lost two lengths. b) SEATTLEGREENLIGHT (C Habib) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) GRANDDADDY PURPLE (A Arries) and in turn ARMED FORCE (S Moodley) were brushed in after GLOBAL PATH (*C Dicken) jumped inwards leaving the starting stalls. b) At the 250m, SEATTLEGREENLIGHT (C Habib) was carried out slightly and steadied off the heels of ARMED FORCE (S Moodley) which shifted out away from the crop. Jockey S Moodley appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to react sooner to correct his mounts when they shift ground in races in future. c) Jockey G Wright reported that WULFSTON took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse ARMED FORCE more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (15) Jockey S Moodley struck the horse ARMED FORCE, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (2) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1500 was imposed. e) ARMED FORCE (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Eudey acting on behalf of Trainer M Miller advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) WULFSTON raced equipped with blinkers (advised 13.06.22/01h32). b) GLOBAL PATH raced with alumites (advised 13.06.22/7h32). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) GRANDDADDY PURPLE : Returned post-race having cast the right front shoe. b) WULFSTON : Nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
