LADY SHEA was slow into stride. From approximately the 300m, MUSAYTARA was carried out significantly by WHY LEIGH, which shifted out away from the crop. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board which was followed by him lodging an Objection on behalf of the second placed horse MUSAYTARA, against the winner, WHY LEIGH, on the grounds of intimidation and interference in the concluding stages. The Board having heard the evidence presented by the parties concerned, was of the opinion that MUSAYTARA had been carried outwards by a significant distance and that this outward shift caused WHY LEIGH to bump MUSAYTARA on two occasions. Furthermore, when racing in such close proximity, Apprentice Klink's use of the crop was restricted. The Board was of the opinion that the result had been affected by this incident and that MUSAYTARA would have finished ahead of WHY LEIGH had this incident not occurred and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judges result. WHY LEIGH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FOURSIXSIXFOUR, HAZEL EYES and LADY SHEA raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind.
