THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) WINNING SINGLE (K de Melo) was stubborn to load.
b) BLITZEN (M Yeni) lost four lengths. Trainer P Gadsby will be advised to re-school this colt.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) SEE IT AGAIN (*R Venniker), ASPECT (A Arries) and OSHAKATI (*S Hlengwa) raced green.
b) BLITZEN (M Yeni) failed to muster speed and raced detached from the field throughout.
c) Leaving the 400m, EYE OF THE PROPHET (K Matsunyane) was carried in by KITCHAKAL (J P v'd Merwe) which shifted in marginally. Thereafter, EYE OF THE PROPHET (K Matsunyane) was tightened and eased after making contact with STRAWBERRY BEAR (S Moodley).
d) STRAWBERRY BEAR (S Moodley) shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages.
e) Jockey K de Melo reported that WINNING SINGLE changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) Apprentice M Katjedi reported that SHIVAANSH made an abnormal respiratory noise in the pull-up area. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
g) In view of the Starter's report with regard to WINNING SINGLE (K de Melo), this colt's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 23.06.22 to the 29.06.22. WINNING SINGLE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer V H Marshall will be advised. (SN)
h) CAPTAIN CASEY (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A J Rivalland advised (HM).
