THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) THE LONGEST TIME (M Khan) jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls.
b) CAPTAIN THRONE (R Danielson) and CHASIN (J P van der Merwe) were slow into stride.
c) BATTLEGROUND (C Zackey) was slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Shortly after the start, FUTUREWOLFF (M van Rensburg), HOME OF THE BRAVE (G Lerena) and NUCLEAR FORCE (K Matsunyane) were bumped outwards by THE LONGEST TIME (M Khan), which jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls.
b) Approaching the 1000m, POOLE HARBOUR (M Yeni) had to steady when awkwardly placed between FUTUREWOLFF (M van Rensburg) and SAMTHEWISEMAN (P Strydom).
c) CAPTAIN THRONE (R Danielson) hung in from 300m.
d) Jockey R Danielson, the rider of CAPTAIN THRONE, accidentally dropped his crop at the 300m.
e) THEWOLFOFWOLSELEY (*G Pieterse) hung in from the 200m.
f) Jockey R Danielson reported that CAPTAIN THRONE did not stride out freely in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
g) Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that CHASIN did not stride out freely in running.

h) WITHOUT EQUAL (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
