The start of this Race was delayed due to the Veterinary Surgeon having to examine VASE and DAYDREAM BELIEVER at the start. VASE and DAYDREAM BELIEVER were restless in the stalls, removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and was re-loaded. Stable Employee Simpkins, acting for Trainer Nel, and Assistant Trainer Ferrie, acting for Trainer Drier, were advised to re-school their respective mares. SARABI and SHEIK'S STORM lost one length. WILDLY IN LOVE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Howells advised. MARZIPAN PATH was hanging in over the final 600m, shifted in and ducked inwards away from the crop at approximately the 300m resulting in Apprentice Pieterse becoming severely unbalanced, and his left foot slipped from the stirrup iron which resulted in him being unable to fully assist his mount. STARLIGHT returned post race having cast the right fore shoe.
