THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SHEELA (R Munger) was restless in the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and was re-loaded. b) PEARL OF ASIA (S Moodley) lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) COIN SPINNER (K de Melo) was hanging out from the 300m. b) Shortly before the finish, COIN SPINNER (K de Melo) and EDEN ROC (R Fourie) came together and brushed. c) Jockey S Moodley reported that PEARL OF ASIA did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) In view of the performance of CHANTYMAN (A Domeyer) (8.90 lengths, 33/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. h) Trainer S Tarry signed an admission of guilt for the contravention of Rule 56.4.1.1, in that he failed to present EDEN ROC (R Fourie) in the parade ring at least 15 minutes before the advertised time of starting of the Race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R2500 was imposed. d) VAL D'ORCIA (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P A Peter advised (RVR). e) GOOD TRAVELLER (G Lerena), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G S Kotzen advised (AH). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) SOCRATES was ridden by Jockey T Godden (advised 01.07.22/9h50). b) EDEN ROC raced with a compression mask. c) WILLIAM ROBERTSON raced with a compression mask.
