THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MARDI GRAS (*K A Brewer) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey W Kennedy reported that SMORGASBORD took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of SMORGASBORD on return to stables. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that ULTRA MAGNUS made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) KAYLA'S CHAMP (N Klink), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) BARD OF AVON raced equipped with a compression mask (declared 28 June 2022 at 13H01) and raced equipped with alumites in front and steel shoes behind (declared 28 June 2022 at 13H32). b) VASEEM: Jockey B Nyawo weighed out at 54,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. c) WHORLY WHORLY: Jockey J R Syster weighed out at 50,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
