THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PASHTUNWALI (C Habib) took an awkward stride at the 1000m. b) SENOR GARCIA (A Arries) was switched out to obtain a clear run at the 450m. c) ENID'S GIRL (*D Geerthsen) was hanging out from 350m and shifted out away from the crop between the 250m and 150m. d) Jockey S Khumalo the rider of GIMME A RAINBOW accidentally dropped his right side rein in the concluding stages. e) In view of the performances of ENID'S GIRL (*D Geerthsen) (9.70 lengths, 16/1 in the betting) and ONE SHOT WONDER (A Mgudlwa) (10.40 lengths, 25/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey J Gates signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse MONSOON KENNY more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey J Gates struck the horse MONSSON KENNY, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (2) in relation to this Rule.
