THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) JAYRANI (R Fourie) brushed the inside running rail at the 500m. b) Jockey R Fourie reported that JAYRANI made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 100m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) POWER SURGE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
