THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROSE OF BAYEUX (R Khathi) was nervous in the stalls and stood awkwardly. b) FRENCH JOY (R Fourie), INTUITIVE (*S Hlengwa), DIAMONDS AND TOADS (JP van der Merwe) and TARTAN DANCER (D Bogaleboile) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with FRENCH JOY and he did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that DIAMONDS AND TOADS did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) FRENCH JOY (R Fourie) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J Batt) d) DANCING GIRL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised.
