THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NORDIC REBEL (K Matsunyane) refused to load. Withdrawn by the Starter. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer E Verdonese advised (PHvdW). b) ESKIMO PIE (C Habib) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 800m, STORMY WINTER (*S Sosibo), which was switched out, ran onto and clipped the heels of LETSDOIT (*P Mxoli). Thereafter, STORMY WINTER (*S Sosibo) commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m. b) LETSDOIT (*P Mxoli) shifted both ways repeatedly from the 400m. Thereafter, leaving the 200m, BACK TO BLACK (G Lerena), ESKIMO PIE (C Habib) and DUKE OF SUSSEX (C Zackey) were carried in by LETSDOIT (*P Mxoli), which shifted inwards. LETSDOIT (*P Mxoli) has been suspended in terms of Rule 93.2.5 until such time as it proves tractable galloping with a companion on a straight course on a race day. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to NORDIC REBEL, this gelding has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 13 July 2022 to 19 July 2022. NORDIC REBEL may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer E Verdonese advised. d) DUKE OF SUSSEX (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (AH). e) STORMY WINTER, unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen advised (HK). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
