FRESHET and I WANT IT THAT WAY proved stubborn loading which caused a delay to the start of this Race. LIMITING FACTOR lost one length. OCEANS PRIDE lost two lengths. I WANT IT THAT WAY was stubborn loading. FRESHET was stubborn loading and thereafter jumped inwards leaving the stalls. ARABELLA QUEEN was restless in the stalls. Jockey Strydom appeared before the before and was questioned regarding his riding of NOTQUITETHEREYET. He explained to the Board that this filly had given him no assistance throughout the race and had an awkward head carriage. Thereafter he reported that she did not stride out freely behind. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine NOTQUITETHEREYET. Trainer Naidoo was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. I WANT IT THAT WAY was hanging out in the concluding stages. EMPRESS JOSEPHINE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. CONSTANTIA and ROCK OF MADEIRA raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind. Vet: NOTQUITETHEREYET - examined post- race, nothing obvious detected. ARABELLA QUEEN - blowing post-race. At the start TAHITIAN ORANA - lashed out making slight contact with OCEANS PRIDE on the left hind. This mare was examined and passed fit to race. Scratched: DEBBIE GOES WEST - coughing.
