THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROY'S BOLT (*M Katjedi) lost three lengths. Trainer K Naidoo was advised to re-school this colt. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) VORTICITY (*C Dicken) over-raced in the early and middle stages, proving difficult to assist. b) ROY'S BOLT (*M Katjedi) raced green. c) CYCLONE ROY (M Mjoka) raced green around the turn. d) At the 150m, DEATH BLOW (A Mgudlwa) was brushed in by OSCEOLA (G Wright) which shifted in away from the crop and was straightened. e) Jockey T Godden reported that he felt something amiss with REEF BOUND in the concluding stages and as a result he did not persevere with his ride. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning REEF BOUND (T Godden), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer G Puller was advised. (Suspension Dates : 18.07.22 - 15.09.22, bdi) g) DOWSER (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer J Buckler acting for Trainer G S Kotzen advised (DZ). h) VORTICITY (*C Dicken), unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) DEATH BLOW raced with a tongue tie (advised 17.07.22/8h02). b) VORTICITY raced with ear muffs and with a compression mask (advised 17.07.22/8h09).
