THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GIJIMA MFANA (J Gates) lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At approximately the 700m, GIJIMA MFANA (J Gates) had to steady and was switched out to avoid running onto the heels of SONG TO THE SUN (C Zackey). b) Approaching the 200m, DAWN MISSION (M Yeni) was carried out by BLAZING LIGHT (S Veale) which rolled out. As a result, DAWN MISSION (M Yeni) and DUKE OF NORMANDY (A Arries) brushed on several occasions. c) SONG TO THE SUN (C Zackey) compounded and was not persevered with in the concluding stages. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning FILL YOUR BOOTS (C Habib), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer K Naidoo was advised. (Suspension Dates : 19.07.22 - 16.09.22, bdi) e) DUKE OF NORMANDY (A Arries), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Marwing advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) SO DACHA raced with alumites in front, unshod behind and with a compression mask (advised 13.07.22/9h38). b) SONG TO THE SUN Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 55.7kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight of 55kg. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) SONG TO THE SUN : Nothing obvious detected. b) FILL YOUR BOOTS : Bi-lateral epistaxis. Confirmed 60 days suspension.
