THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SEVEN PATRIOTS (J Gates) fly-jumped leaving the stalls. b) SHARE HOLDER (AUS) (M Yeni) and SEVEN PATRIOTS (J Gates) were stubborn to load. c) FIGHT SONG (J P v'd Merwe) lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 1000m, SHARE HOLDER (AUS) (M Yeni) which over-raced in the early and middle stages, was switched out to avoid running onto the heels of SEVEN PATRIOTS (J Gates). b) AL'S MY DADDY (S Khumalo) was hanging in from the 350m. c) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with GIMMIE A STAR in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse FULL BLAST more than 12 times in the entire race. When determining the penalty, the Stewards considered that this was Jockey S Moodley's 16th transgression of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline M) since 1 August 2021 and his 3rd offence inside the preceding 60 days period. Accordingly, a fine of R2000 and a suspension from riding at two KZN Racemeetings, were imposed. (Suspension dates to be advised) e) FIGHT SONG (J P v'd Merwe), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) advised (ML). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) FULL BLAST raced without blinkers (advised 18.07.22/9h46). b) SPRING HIGH raced with a compression mask. c) SHARE HOLDER (AUS) raced with cheek pieces (advised 20.07.22/6h52).
