THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PHIL'S DANCER (K de Melo) was restless in the stalls. b) FUSILLADE (G van Niekerk) jumped outwards and made contact with WALK OF FAME (G Cheyne). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FLY MY FLAG (C ZACKEY) was hanging out from the 400m. b) WALK OF FAME (G Cheyne) and MAJOR ATTRACTION (R Fourie) brushed leaving the 400m and again at the finish. c) Trainer K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with PHIL'S DANCER and he did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) DAD'S CATCH (C Bantam) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 120 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J Batt) e) WALK OF FAME, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised. (JF) f) MAJOR ATTRACTION, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised.
