THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) LOVERS LANE (K de Melo) was restless in the stalls.
b) FULL GO (D De Gouveia), DUKE OF FIRE (*P Mxoli) and BLACK LIGHTNING (J R Syster) were slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) CASH SLIP (J P van der Merwe) raced green.
b) BLACK LIGHTNING (J R Syster) hung in badly throughout, proving difficult to assist. Taking into account this gelding's poor behaviour on debut as well, Trainer F P Habib was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to improve BLACK LIGHTNING'S racing manners.
c) In the concluding stages, PRAGMATIST (K Matsunyane) was brushed out by CAPTAIN FREEDOM (R Munger), which shifted out sharply away from the crop and was immediately corrected.
d) BOISTEROUS (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

a) BLACK LIGHTNING raced equipped with a compression mask and with a pressure halter (declared 21 July 2022 at 09H23).

d) STELLA BRILLANTE raced equipped with blinkers (declared 28 July 2022 at 07H24).
e) STELLA BRILLANTE is a gelding (gelded 12 May 2022). Trainer P F Matchett will be charged with a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1 in that he failed to notify the local office of the National Horseracing Authority within two (2) business days that STELLA BRILLANTE had been gelded.
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a) POWER MAD abnormal respiratory noise.
b) MR BODACIOUS mouth injury.

a) NEW MEXICO Pharyngitis (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).
