THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BALLON D'OR (R Munger) jumped inwards leaving the stalls and stumbled shortly thereafter. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LEOPOLD (K de Melo), PRINCE EVLANOFF (C Zackey) and FOREIGN FIELD (J P van der Merwe) were bumped in by BALLON D'OR (R Munger), which jumped inwards and stumbled. b) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with LEOPOLD in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) BARNEYS PRIDE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
