THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SACRED LILY (*M Katjedi) refused to load and was withdrawn.
b) LAUGHING WILLIAM (C Habib) lost one length.
c) BALTYBOYS (R Khathi) lost two lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) At the 800m, AMERICAN DREAM (*K Strydom) was steadied off the heels of GLOBAL OUTLOOK (C Ngcobo) which rolled in.
b) JOHNNY'S HOPE (K Matsunyane) was hanging out from the 500m.
c) Approaching the 200m, WITHOUT QUESTION (*R Venniker) which rolled in, was steadied off the heels of PROMETTERE (S Veale) which was hanging out from the 300m and rolled out.
d) CAPTAINOFTHEGREEN (M Yeni) raced green.
e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SACRED LILY (*M Katjedi), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 08.08.22 to the 14.08.22. SACRED LILY may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer T Crawford was advised. (SL)
f) Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt for Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse PROMETTERE more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (15) Jockey S Veale struck the horse PROMETTERE, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (3) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1500 was imposed.
g) WINTER PEARL (G Wright), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Brown acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock advised (NS).
