THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) GLOBAL DOLLAR (*D Geerthsen) prematurely broke through the front gates, was restrained by the rider, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and was re-loaded.
b) CHEROKEE TRAIL (G Wright) was restless in the stalls, removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded.
c) SEE IT AGAIN (*R Venniker) was stubborn to load and was restless in the stalls.
d) FLAMING DRUM (S Veale) and DOUBLE SILVER (C Ngcobo) lost one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) SEE IT AGAIN (*R Venniker) was standing awkwardly in the starting stalls as the start was effected resulting in Apprentice R Venniker's right foot not being in the stirrup iron. She regained her footing shortly thereafter.
b) DOUBLE SILVER (C Ngcobo) raced green.
c) LAZY GUY (C Habib) was hanging in from the 600m.
d) RED MAGICIAN (T Godden) raced in restricted room between the CHEEKY LADDIE (K de Melo) and LAZY GUY (C Habib) in the concluding stages.
e) Apprentice G Pieterse reported that IBIZA NIGHT made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SEE IT AGAIN (*R Venniker), this colt's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 15.08.22 to the 21.08.22. SEE IT AGAIN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer M L Roberts was advised. (TM)
g) Trainer N Kotzen signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.7.5, in that he failed to vaccinate WAR MASTER against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 imposed.
h) CHEEKY LADDIE (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Roscoe acting on behalf of Trainer D Kannemeyer advised (NS).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) CYCLONE ROY was ridden by Apprentice M Katjedi (claiming 4kg) (14.08.22/8h30).
b) ARBITRATOR raced equipped with blinkers (advised 11.08.22/11h40).
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER :
a) Nil.
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED :
a) CHEROKEE TRAIL : Mouth injury.
b) GLOBAL DOLLAR : Scalp wound left hind.
c) IBIZA NIGHT : Abnormal respiratory noise.
