THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CATCH THE MELODY (J P v'd Merwe) became restless as the start was effected and lost one length. Thereafter, CATCH THE MELODY (J P v'd Merwe) was bumped in by PELARGONIUM (*R Venniker) which jumped inwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PELARGONIUM (*R Venniker) shifted in away from the crop approaching the 50m. b) Jockey J P v'd Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with CATCH THAT MELODY at the 200m and as a result eased this filly out of the race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) SWEET SYMPONY (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
